The author of Daily Encouragement is Luther C. Alexander, Jr.
These daily notes were begun in the fall of 2011 as a way of encouraging two of Luther’s friends who were maintaining a ’round the clock vigil with their twins, who were born prematurely and were in the NICU ward of a hospital. Over time, these short notes were shared widely between an extended network of friends, but the original purpose is unchanged: To provide an upbeat challenge that is scripture-based and focused on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in our day-to-day living.
Luther served as a U. S. Navy chaplain for more than 25 years, and has been an ordained Baptist clergyman for more than 35 years. He and his wife Jay are the parents of two daughters, and the grandparents of four grandchildren. Jay and Luther reside in Annapolis, Maryland.
